Jim Corbett National Park Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, it was renamed in 1957 to honor the legendary hunter-turned-conservationist Jim Corbett, who played a pivotal role in its creation. It is India’s oldest national park and was the first to come under the Project Tiger initiative in 1973. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, the park is renowned for its Bengal tiger population and diverse wildlife. The most famous and largest zone in the park, Dhikala offers the best chances of spotting tigers, elephants, and other wildlife. It’s also known for its stunning views of the Ramganga River and grasslands.
